Mandem, It’s Not Your Job to Provide

Steward 🌱 Lead 🧭 Sow 🌾

There’s a lot of pressure out here.
The cost of living keeps climbing. Social media makes it seem like by 20 you should already own a Land Rover Defender, have a house, a body carved from stone, and your whole life mapped out.

And when you carry the label of “provider”—whether you chose it or it was placed on you—it can feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders.

But let me challenge you with this thought:
👉🏾 It’s not your job to provide.

God Will Provide 🙌🏾

In Genesis, Abraham was tested. God asked him to take Isaac up a mountain and prepare an altar of sacrifice. Isaac didn’t know the full story—he was just following his father’s lead.

Abraham carried the fire 🔥 and the knife. Isaac carried the wood 🌲. Step by step, father and son climbed the mountain. Then Isaac asked the obvious question: Where’s the sacrifice?

Abraham’s reply was simple and powerful: “God will provide”

In that moment, Abraham showed us something timeless: faith doesn’t mean having everything figured out. It means carrying what’s in your hands, leading with what you’ve been given, and trusting God to provide the rest.

Steward 🌱. Lead 🧭. Sow 🌾.

Provision is God’s role. Ours is to steward, to lead, and to sow.

  • Steward: Take care of what’s already in your hands. Sometimes that means pulling up weeds—negative thoughts, toxic relationships, or habits that choke growth.

  • Lead: Set the tone. Provide direction —not because you know everything, but because you’re committed to moving forward with what you’ve been given.

  • Sow: Plant seeds—whether money, effort, or time. Sowing is an act of trust that what goes into the ground will rise in its season. It’s not about forcing outcomes but moving in step with God and leaving the results to Him.

Isaac’s Hundredfold 📈

Later in Genesis, Isaac sowed seed during a famine. Logically, it made no sense. Yet the good book says he reaped a hundredfold.

Even the sharpest crypto pro would be impressed by that kind of return. 🚀

The point isn’t the maths—it’s the trust. Isaac sowed when others held back. He planted in a barren season, and God honoured his courage with a harvest. That’s faith in action.

A Lighter Burden 🪶

So when I say “it’s not your job to provide,” I don’t mean walking away from responsibility. Far from it. We’re called to steward, to lead, to sow.

But the supernatural provision—the part that turns seed into fruit—that’s God’s.

Think of an apple tree 🍎: we can’t make apples. Only God can. But we can sow the seed, water it, protect it, and trust that with rain, sun, and time, the tree will grow—and eventually, you’ll have an apple in your hand.

It takes courage to sow when you can’t yet see the tree. But when we do, God is the one who brings the harvest.

Closing 🌟

We’re not called to be the provider.
We’re called to be faithful stewards, leaders, and sowers.

So plant boldly, lead faithfully, and trust deeply.
Because at the right time—God will provide.
